Abstract
The article characterizes a new type of directory “The Republic of Belarus: Dictionary of Culture-Oriented Linguistics”. The authors presented the classifi cation of the contents of the dictionary on the subject-matter basis, the structure of dictionary entries, and fragments of the dictionary. The dictionary covers various areas of the intangible and material culture of Belarusians realized in the Belarusian language. The prepared edition provides information on personalities and realities, on the history, geography, architecture, natural phenomena of the country. Both traditional vocabulary, phraseology, aphoristics, and recent innovations caused by the changes over the period of the existence of Belarus as an independent state have found their place in the edition. This dictionary is relevant for use in methodical work, cross-cultural communication.
