Abstract

The aim of the article is to describe the picturesque landscapes of the Belarusian Lake District, but most importantly - small villages (eg., Olshevo, Grumbinenty, Falevichi), which are situated on the Blue Lakes banks. It is also about their inhabitants, who glorifi ed this region through the years. A signifi cant place in the article is occupied by the memories of the residents of the region about the trades that their ancestors were engaged in. The text uses fragments of materials collected during the course of field research conducted in the Myadel district since 2010.
